Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support litigation cases with the main practice areas being civil and family. The ideal candidate will be possess a strong foundation in case management, including but not limited to, discovery, correspondence, motions, EUOs, calendaring consistently and daily, set up and prep case files, etc. This position is a unique opportunity in that you will support only one attorney. You will play a key role in preparing case files, managing legal documents, and facilitating effective communication with clients and attorneys to ensure proper scheduling and other support to make the progression of the case is done properly.
Duties
- Assist attorney with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Manage and organize large volumes of legal documents using document management systems such as Practice Panther.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Coordinate depositions, interviews, and client meetings; prepare summaries and reports for attorney review.
- Maintain meticulous case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with procedural law requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Handle confidential information with integrity.
- Support administrative functions including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and scheduling to streamline workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with attorney on legal writing projects and proofread all documents for clarity and correctness.
Skills
- At least 2 years experience as a paralegal supporting litigation cases with familiarity in civil and family litigation processes.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law across various practice areas.
- Excellent research skills utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis; ability to synthesize complex legal information clearly.
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as Practice Panther; adept at document review and management systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, legal writing & drafting; ability to produce professional-quality legal documents efficiently.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong client communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette; capable of interviewing clients effectively when needed.
- Experience in handling confidential information responsibly; meticulous proofreading abilities for all legal documentation.
- Familiarity with research techniques related to procedural laws across different jurisdictions; ability to interpret complex legal concepts accurately.
- Effective project management skills to coordinate discovery efforts and trial preparations seamlessly.
- Spanish speaker is a plus, but not required
Pay: $56,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
