Director of Nursing (DON)
Location: Rockford, IL
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 annually
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations at a busy skilled nursing facility in the Rockford, Illinois area.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing nursing services, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving clinical outcomes, and supporting a culture of excellence in resident care.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all nursing department operations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and retention initiatives
- Monitor clinical quality indicators and survey readiness
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes
- Mentor and develop nursing leaders, including ADONs and Unit Managers
- Manage infection prevention, quality assurance, and risk management programs
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois RN license
- Prior Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process
- Experience managing large nursing teams
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
