Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Support kitchen staff during busy service hours to ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Follow all food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure quality control
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or culinary settings is highly desirable
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling practices
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new culinary skills
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is advantageous but not required
