Position Title: Phone Operator
Department Name: Intake
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments for Evaluation & Management services
- Answer incoming telephone calls and screen them to ensure proper routing to the appropriate department or individual.
- Retrieve telephone messages and follow up with appropriate actions.
- Assist with appointment cancellation and reschedule.
- Assist with conducting post procedure calls.
- Ensure complete and accurate data entry during telephone patient registration process.
- Utilize EMR and Ring Central systems to ensure proper routing of telephone calls and notifications.
- Forward patient’s concern and feedback to appropriate staff.
- Maintain appropriate documents, reports, and files in order to comply with all applicable laws and policies.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Knowledge and Skill:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, Internet browsing and medical practice management software.
Physical demands:
- Frequent alpha/ numeric keyboarding.
- Oral communication over the phone and in person.
- Ability to view computer monitor.
- Must be able to exercise patience and accuracy in the face of multiple interruptions.
