AOI Operator
Our growing, state-of-the-art facility in Erie has an exciting, newly created opportunity for an AOI Operator to join our SMT team. This position is responsible for the operation of AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects.

What you’ll do:
- Responsible for properly inspecting printed circuit boards for defects and performing rework when appropriate
- Load appropriate program into AOI equipment
- Operator both the AOI machine and X-ray to inspect SMT PCB assemblies
- Inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A 610 standards
- Perform quality inspections at each stage to ensure product is built per customer specifications and industry standards
- Interpret an AOI call and determine if it is a defect
- Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repair of AOI machine
What will make you stand out?
- Previous AOI or SMT experience
- IPC-A 610 or J-STD-001 certification
- Knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) parts and processes
- Ability to accurately perform required visual inspection
- Previous experience of working in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Technical knowledge of reading blueprints, schematics, electrical/engineering drawings, etc.
- Familiar with J-Stds and ISO-9001
- Experience with Panasonic equipment a plus

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Job requires that employee is able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift 25 - 50 pounds
- Must have excellent eyesight and hearing (cannot be color blind)
- Work environment includes machines and tools with sharp moving parts and hot surfaces
- Employees may be exposed to moderate noise levels and processes that utilize solder, potting material, conformal coating and cleaning agents, which have various odors
- Employees must wear safety glasses ,ESD smocks, ESD straps at all times when on the production floor (all of these items are provided by 4Front)
