JOB DESCRIPTION: The Part-Time Day ESOL Substitute Instructor will report to the Blue Hills Adult Education Capen School in Dedham location by 9:15 AM to receive assignments. The instructor is responsible for the following: -Follow absent teachers lesson plans and class expectations -Assist with all aspects of the class routine, including distributing and collecting supplies and keeping attendance records-Create and maintain a positive learning environment in classroom-Keep a daily log of class progress to share with the regular teacher.-Clean the teaching area at the end of each class, ensuring all equipment and materials are returned to their proper places.-Uses appropriate judgment to always act in the best interest of students-Maintains appropriate dress and a professional appearance-Performs other duties as assigned by the administratorPOSITION DETAILS: -Employment is on an as-needed basis, with the need for substitutes varying from day to day and week to week.-Classes held at Capen School in Dedham-Current hourly rate: $30DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to accept daily assignments are essential.-ABE licensure preferred-Experience in teaching adults preferred-Familiarity with educational technology (Google Suite) and the ability to integrate these tools into instruction is preferred.-A passion for connecting with students is essential.REPORTS TO: Tammy MacDonald, ABE DirectorContact:
