Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Board-Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join a collaborative and highly respected radiation oncology team. This is a long-term onsite contract opportunity in a modern, well-equipped clinical environment where patient safety, treatment accuracy, and quality of care are top priorities.
You will support advanced radiation treatment planning, quality assurance, equipment calibration, dose-delivery accuracy, and radiation safety while working alongside radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and other dedicated medical professionals. The practice follows nationally recognized ACR, ASTRO, AAPM, and accreditation standards.
What You’ll Do
- Design, optimize, and technically evaluate radiation treatment plans, including 2D/3D conformal therapy, IMRT/VMAT, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and image-guided radiation therapy.
- Perform treatment-plan reviews, monitor-unit calculations, weekly chart checks, final chart reviews, and patient-specific quality assurance.
- Support Varian linear accelerators, CT simulation, Eclipse treatment planning, ARIA record-and-verify systems, and associated radiation oncology technologies.
- Complete equipment calibration, periodic testing, beam-data validation, treatment-planning system testing, and radiation safety activities.
- Collaborate in peer-review conferences, complex treatment setups, new-procedure implementation, documentation, and continuous quality-improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree or PhD in Medical Physics or a closely related field.
- Current board certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics through the American Board of Radiology.
- At least two years of continuous, current medical physics experience within the past three years.
- Recent experience with Varian IX and Trilogy linear accelerators, cone-beam CT and IGRT, Eclipse, ARIA, MapCHECK or equivalent systems, and Siemens Somatom CT simulation or comparable equipment.
- Ability to independently plan advanced treatment cases and maintain all required certifications, continuing education, health clearances, and clinical competencies.
Schedule & Coverage
- Onsite coverage is expected on a recurring one-day-per-week basis, with the specific weekday coordinated with the clinical team.
- Standard clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Some calibration, measurement, machine-testing, vacation-coverage, weekend, holiday, or after-hours work may be required based on treatment schedules and equipment access.
