Description:
This role is responsible for robotic and manual welding operations within the fabrication process. The position requires ownership of part quality, equipment operation, and workflow support, including setup, welding, inspection, and maintenance of robotic and manual welding systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Robotic Welding Operation

Operate robotic welding systems to produce parts that meet print and quality requirements

Set and adjust robotic welding parameters following training and certification

Monitor welding processes to prevent defects such as distortion, warping, or incomplete welds

Load, position, and secure parts in fixtures for robotic welding operations
Manual Welding & Fabrication

Perform manual MIG welding using solid wire, dual shield, and metal core processes

Prepare, fit, and tack weld components prior to robotic or final weld operations

Support fabrication processes including grinding, cleanup, and part preparation
Quality & Inspection

Inspect welded parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards

Identify and correct weld defects and process issues

Use measuring tools and weld gauges to verify weld quality and dimensions

Report non-conformances and production concerns in a timely manner
-
Maintain accountability for part quality throughout the welding process
Equipment Maintenance & Work Area

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and work areas

Identify and report faulty equipment or defective materials
-
Maintain organized workstations to support safe and efficient production

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong understanding of welding equipment, processes, and materials
-
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

Basic math skills including fractions and decimals

Ability to use measuring tools including tape measures and weld gauges

Strong attention to detail and quality focus

Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Ability to meet production deadlines

Must be able to communicate in English

Must pass a pre-employment welding test
Education and Experience:
-
Completion of formal welding training or minimum two (2) years of welding experience
-
Experience with robotic welding systems preferred
-
Experience with manual MIG welding required
-
Forklift experience preferred
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and perform repetitive motion for extended periods (10–12 hours)

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to see fine detail at close range

Ability to climb, balance, stoop, and move throughout the facility

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions
