Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and alarm systems. Duties
- Install, configure, and test various security systems including alarm systems, CCTV surveillance, sensors, fire alarms, and access control systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems, cabling, and network connections to ensure optimal system performance.
- Use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and remote access software to diagnose issues and implement repairs efficiently.
- Interpret technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and system design documents to accurately install and service complex security infrastructure.
- Perform field service tasks such as system upgrades, remote access setup, sensor calibration, and system testing in diverse environments including construction sites and commercial facilities.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system features, provide training on operation procedures, and promote alarm system sales opportunities.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician or alarm technician within the security or telecommunication industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring, cabling, and power tools usage.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts including remote access software and network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of security system components such as IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, locks, and surveillance equipment.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction plans for accurate system installation.
- Experience working with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards or similar electrical codes is preferred.
