Alaska Precast Solutions is seeking one or more experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to support the operation of Alaska's first prestressed precast concrete manufacturing facility and its associated aggregate and gravel operations in Nikiski.
This is a hands-on position for mechanics who enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment, solving problems in the field, and keeping critical production systems operating safely and efficiently. Successful candidates will work across a wide variety of equipment and systems, including heavy equipment, aggregate processing equipment, batch plant systems, conveyors, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and industrial manufacturing machinery.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the equipment and systems that support plant production and aggregate operations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, independent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping equipment operational, minimizing downtime, and supporting a safe and productive work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and mobile equipment.
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
· Maintain conveyors, aggregate processing equipment, batching systems, mixers, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and related production equipment.
· Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
· Inspect equipment and identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
· Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of new equipment and systems.
· Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed.
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
· Coordinate with operations personnel to schedule repairs and maintenance activities.
· Maintain an organized shop, parts inventory, and maintenance work areas.
· Respond to operational issues and emergency repairs when required.
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
· Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, diesel, manufacturing, aggregate, mining, or related mechanical experience.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
· Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and production machinery.
· Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
· Experience with conveyors, crushers, screening equipment, batching systems, or manufacturing equipment is highly desirable.
· Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
· Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
· Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in industrial and outdoor environments year-round.
· Valid driver's license required / Class B CDL preferred.
· Basic computer skills for maintenance records and work order tracking.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Industrial maintenance certification, millwright experience, or equivalent technical training.
· Class B CDL
· Experience in precast concrete, ready-mix concrete, aggregate production, mining, asphalt, or manufacturing operations.
· Welding certifications or advanced fabrication experience.
· Familiarity with preventative maintenance software systems.
· Experience operating heavy equipment.
