Responsibilities
1. Set up and operate CNC machines and equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders to produce precision parts to specifications.
2. Read, interpret, and follow complex blueprints, engineering plans, and geometric dimensions and tolerances to design and troubleshoot machining tasks.
3. Use precision measurement tools to inspect and verify the accuracy of machined parts, ensuring strict adherence to quality control standards.
4. Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages to keep the machinery running smoothly.
5. Utilize CAD/CAM software to program machines for production, adjusting settings as necessary to optimize performance.
6. Collaborate with the engineering department to develop and execute machining strategies for new product lines.
7. Perform tooling, including selecting appropriate tools and materials for the job, and ensuring tools are sharp and in good condition.
8. Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability in machining tasks, adjusting when necessary.
9. Apply knowledge of tool and die and toolmaking to create and modify tools for specialized machining tasks.
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
2. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and engineering plans.
3. Advanced knowledge of machine programming and operation, including CAD/CAM software.
4. Skilled in precision measurement and equipment calibration.
5. Familiarity with quality control standards and protocols.
6. Experience with lathe operation, tooling, and machine setup.
7. Expertise in tool and die and toolmaking techniques.
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
10. Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
11. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a relevant field or a vocational training certificate is preferred.
