Housekeeping Worker (Per Diem/On-Call)
Available Shifts: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and/or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Shore View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking reliable and dedicated Per Diem Housekeeping Workers to join our Environmental Services team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of resident rooms, common areas, offices, dining rooms, corridors, bathrooms, and other facility areas in accordance with company policies and applicable health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, offices, hallways, stairwells, and common spaces.
- Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and maintain floors and surfaces.
- Empty trash and linen containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean sinks, toilets, mirrors, windowsills, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Maintain walls, vents, baseboards, and other facility surfaces.
- Assist with floor care projects, including buffing, scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing floors.
- Ensure housekeeping supplies and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper chemical handling and use of wet-floor signage.
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards promptly.
- Work collaboratively with residents, visitors, and fellow team members to support a positive environment.
- Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, environmental services, or cleaning experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and infection-control practices.
Schedule
Per Diem Position
Must be able to work:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Flexible scheduling based on facility needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ability to move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning.
