We are looking for Oiler/General Laborer to join our team in Lewisville, TX. This position helps our Concrete Pump Operators on the job sites. A strong work ethic and ability to make decisions when it's stressful will make you a standout ! You must have a current Driver's License and clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Assists in setting up, uses and maintains tools and equipment associated with the concrete pumps mounted on trucks.
- Assists in the loading and unloading of concrete placing systems and attachments
- Assists the backing of Ready-Mix trucks to the pump
- Routinely checks for leaks
- Contain ALL hydraulic or diesel leaks
- When needed, shovel spilled concrete back into the hopper
- Ensure that water is in the water box
- Assists operator(s) with maintenance at the yard with replacing blown pipe, elbow, and gasket replacement.
- Cleaning of all pumps thoroughly to include, but is not limited to: Cab, remotes, side boxes, system, pump and boom) pipe, hoses, and clamps
- Assist with pre- and post-trip inspections
- Setting up and handling system (pipe & hoses) for concrete pumps
- Maintain clean vehicles, job sites, locker rooms and yard at all times.
- Follow all safety protocols as outlined by OSHA and Safety Manager
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to operate in a stressful environment
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Previous experience maintaining pumps
- Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical problems
- Clear understanding of equipment and safety manuals
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with customers and ready mix producers
- Ability to work professionally with customers and ready mix producers, even in stressful situations.
- High School Education or GED
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds above your head
- Ability to push & pull up to 80 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (10 – 12+ hours per day)
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary
- Possess good manual dexterity to climb on and around the pump truck in all weather conditions common to the north Texas area
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain, cleated walkways and wire mesh
- Ability/willingness to work with outside temperatures that include extreme heat, cold, wind and rain
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving
