Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento (BBBSGS) is dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Through meaningful relationships with caring adult mentors, we help young people realize their full potential and build brighter futures. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Enrollment & Match Specialist to join our mission-driven team and help create life-changing mentoring matches throughout the Greater Sacramento region.
About the Role
The Part-Time Enrollment & Match Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring volunteers and youth are appropriately enrolled into the BBBSGS mentoring program and thoughtfully matched based on compatibility, safety, and program standards. This position is responsible for conducting enrollment interviews, assessing volunteers and youth, completing match recommendations, and supporting the development of strong mentoring relationships that have lasting impact.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, empathetic, and skilled at building rapport with diverse individuals. This position offers a flexible combination of office, remote, and occasional community-based work, including support at recruitment and match events throughout the Greater Sacramento service area.

Key Responsibilities
Enrollment & Interviews (40%)
- Guide families and volunteers through the enrollment process while identifying and addressing barriers to participation.
- Conduct interviews with volunteers, youth, and parents/guardians to assess program fit.
- Complete volunteer orientations and explain program expectations.
- Educate families and volunteers on child safety policies and mentoring best practices.
- Conduct follow-up calls to obtain additional information when necessary.
- Schedule and facilitate match presentation meetings with volunteers and families.
Assessment, Documentation & Matchmaking (40%)
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records in accordance with BBBS standards.
- Utilize scheduling and database systems (including MatchForce/Salesforce or similar CRM platforms) to document participant interactions and manage caseloads.
- Coordinate volunteer background checks and reference verification.
- Prepare comprehensive enrollment assessments based on interviews and screening information.
- Establish youth outcome goals and recommend appropriate training and match support.
- Review participant profiles to create high-quality mentoring matches based on compatibility, interests, location, preferences, and safety considerations.
- Complete reassessments and participant updates as needed.
- Monitor quality assurance standards and measurable program outcomes.
Team Collaboration & Community Engagement (20%)
- Collaborate regularly with program staff regarding enrollment, matching decisions, and participant support.
- Ensure smooth transition of newly established matches to Match Support Specialists.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with recruitment events, volunteer orientations, agency activities, and community outreach throughout the Greater Sacramento region.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interviewing, assessing, or supporting children, families, or volunteers.
- Case management, intake, enrollment, or human services experience.
- Experience working with youth-serving organizations or nonprofit agencies.
- Background in child development, psychology, social work, counseling, education, or a related field.
- Experience with Salesforce, MatchForce, or other CRM platforms.
- Bilingual in Spanish or another language commonly spoken within the Greater Sacramento community.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
