Quality Control Inspector – Tank Heads, Rolled Shells & ConesPosition Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting and preparing tank heads, rolled shells, and cones to ensure all products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This position performs visual inspections, dimensional verification, surface preparation, product identification, and shipping preparation to ensure customers receive defect-free products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Inspect tank heads, rolled shells, and cones for quality, workmanship, and compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
· Separate tank heads by size, material, customer order, or production requirements.
· Measure products using precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, thickness, diameter, and other required specifications.
· Inspect finished products for scratches, dents, surface imperfections, and other cosmetic defects.
· Grind and buff surfaces to remove scratches and minor imperfections while maintaining product quality standards.
· Verify product appearance prior to shipment.
· Stamp and stencil products with the appropriate identification, heat numbers, part numbers, or customer-required markings.
· Pull and stage completed products for shipping according to shipping schedules and customer orders.
· Ensure all products are properly identified and documented before shipment.
· Report quality issues, nonconforming materials, or production concerns to supervisors.
· Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
· Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Assist with other quality control or production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Experience using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Basic math skills and ability to accurately record measurements.
· Ability to identify cosmetic and dimensional defects.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
· Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
· Lift and move materials, with assistance when required.
· Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
· Ability to safely operate around cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.

Pay: $17.50 per hour
