Kangaroo Care is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a 4 year old boy in Forest Grove looking for part time help M-F 10am-2pm. Client is super smart, great imagination, very sweet and also has a goofy side. He enjoys building things, safety signs, maps, playing with action figures, dancing, listening to music, being outside and playing with other kids. He needs help with increasing his communication skills, working on his emotional regulation especially when it comes to transitions and unexpected things happening, monitoring for seizures, and working on his self care at home including toileting and possibly bathing, and his play skills at the park and library which are close to home. There is a dog and no smoking in the home.
Schedule:
- Mondays-Fridays 10:00am-2:00pm
- Approximately 20 hours per week
Candidate Must have-
- Communication skills requiring patience and understanding
- Ability to provide occasional assistance with daily tasks

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
- Assist with dressing, grooming
- Assist in daily living activities and needs
- Participate in life enriching activities
- A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
- Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
