Senior Manager, Women's Sports & Portfolio Innovation
Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite. Corporate offices in Bethesda, MD or Manhattan, NY.
Reports To: Sr. Director, Sports & Experiential Marketing
Travel: Approximately 20%, including occasional weekend and off-hours commitments
Within Marketing at GEICO, women's sports is one of the fastest-growing, highest-attention spaces in marketing today. Getting in early and getting it right is a real competitive advantage and a must-do.
The Senior Manager, Women's Sports & Portfolio Innovation owns this practice area end to end: building GEICO's women's sports strategy from the ground up, redesigning the long-lead sponsorship portfolio roadmap, and serving as the primary steward for key sponsorships and talent relationships. This is not a single sponsorship to manage — it's a practice area to build, with its own strategy, investment framework, and multi-year roadmap.
This role requires someone who has already built or led a sports or sponsorship practice of comparable scope — not someone stepping into practice leadership for the first time. If you've built this kind of portfolio before and want to do it again at one of the most recognized brands in the country, this is that opportunity.
The Marketing organization at GEICO is guided by a clear set of principles: we hire the best at every level and invest in developing them. We believe that strategy comes before action — if we don't know why we're doing something, we don't do it. We bring the same care and accountability to how we spend resources as we would if it were our own business. And when there are challenges, we face them directly and collectively. Leaders in this organization are expected to bring that same mindset to their teams.

You May Be a Good Fit If You
Have already built or led a sports, sponsorship, or experiential practice of comparable scope — not just supported one — and can point to the portfolio you built and the results it drove
Have managed multi-year sponsorship portfolios at scale, including the investment frameworks and decision criteria behind them
Have negotiated and stewarded brand or talent ambassador deals from ideation through execution
Can operationalize a practice area — designing the workflows, governance, and processes that let a new function scale, not just run individual campaigns
Are energized by building something that doesn't exist yet, rather than optimizing something already established
Have strong analytical instincts and can turn performance data into specific recommendations for brand and consumer impact
Experience: 8+ years in sports and experiential marketing, with proven, demonstrable results building or leading a comparable sports, sponsorship, or partnership practice — not adjacent experiential or events experience
Portfolio management: Direct, named ownership of multi-year sponsorship portfolios at scale, including both traditional and non-traditional women's sports partnerships
Deal experience: Proven experience managing long- and short-term brand or talent ambassador deals from ideation through execution
Cross-functional leadership: Experience managing multiple external agencies and internal partners across sports, experiential, media, analytics, and creative simultaneously
Operational rigor: Demonstrated ability to operationalize a marketing practice — redesigning processes, workflows, and communications for scale
Activation breadth: Ability to activate partnerships at both local and national levels
Analytical fluency: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and uncover insights that drive brand and consumer impact
Strong Candidates May Also Have
Direct relationships within the women's sports ecosystem — leagues, teams, talent, or media platforms
Experience building a practice area in a transformational or matrixed organization
A track record of identifying and scaling emerging partnership formats ahead of broader market adoption
