Duties
- Assist in meal preparation and food production, following established recipes and safety standards.
- Operate food preparation equipment safely and efficiently, including slicing tools and cooking appliances.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace to ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.
- Support food handling procedures with attention to proper storage, sanitation, and temperature control.
- Contribute to sensory evaluation processes by tasting and assessing food quality during preparation.
- Serve prepared dishes in accordance with service standards while maintaining a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
Skills
- Strong knife skills with precise slicing techniques for various ingredients.
- Experience in meal and food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production environments, including proper handling of food safety management protocols.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to portioning, measurements, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with food industry regulations regarding hygiene, sanitation, and allergen control.
- Excellent customer service skills to support the dining experience when interacting with guests or team members.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, manual handling tasks, and operating kitchen equipment safely.
