Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Welding Teacher to join our dedicated team at a vibrant high school. This is a ten (10) month position effective for the 2026-2027 school session. Qualifications for this position are a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or meets CTTIE Certificate eligibility. Duties
- Deliver engaging welding instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including demonstrations, hands-on practice, and multimedia resources.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by enforcing safety rules, managing equipment use, and conducting regular safety drills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate welding skills into broader career and technical education programs.
- Mentor students in developing professional skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication relevant to the trades industry.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of welding techniques, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of math concepts including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, calculus, and their applications in welding projects.
- Excellent classroom management skills with experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and learning technology tools.
