Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Local CDL Class A Truck Driver with Tanker Endorsement to join our team. It is mandatory to have a minimum of 4 years experience. The potential candidate will transport non-hazmat materials for SealMaster St. Louis. SealMaster is the Leader in Pavement Maintenance Products & Equipment across the Nation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight within local routes, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to handle various types of freight including flatbeds, dry vans, but mainly tankers. The driver will consistently make deliveries of our Pavement Sealers to our storefronts , job sites, and our customer's commercial storage yards. This is NOT an OTR position. You will be home every evening.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmission across designated local routes throughout the state of Missouri.
- Deliver freight efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Pump and offload Pavement Sealers in a clean and timely manor
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as needed
- Handle various types of freight including flatbeds, tankers, and freight shipments
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and mileage, and credit card receipts
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Manage route driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines
- Assist with securing loads and ensuring proper weight distribution for safe transport
- Follow all company policies regarding driving hours, safety protocols, and vehicle maintenance
Skills
- Valid CDL Class A license with Tanker Endorsement and Tanker Experience required
- Must have a minimum of 4 years experience driving Tankers
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as flat beds, dry van, and tankers.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other loading/unloading equipment is a plus
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial driving and freight handling
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Good communication skills for coordinating deliveries and interacting professionally with clients
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Flexible schedule to work overtime and weekends during the busy summer season
