Position Overview:
As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting both providers and patients through clinical and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, quick learner, and team player with prior experience in a medical office setting.
*This position requires long-term consistency and is not intended as a short-term gap role before medical school, PA school, nursing school, or another training program. *
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Prep patient charts
- Manage multi-line phone system; respond to voicemails in a timely manner
- Send lab, imaging, and diagnostic orders as directed
- Stock inventory and medication samples
- Room patients, take vitals, and update medication lists in the EMR
- Retrieve and review test results with patients; coordinate records from external providers
- Process prescription refills and prior authorizations
- Use platforms to download CGM, insulin pump, and glucometer data (training provided)
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- 2+ years EMR experience (any system)
- Spanish-speaking
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Friendly, patient-centered attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Familiarity with diabetes technologies (glucose meters, insulin pumps, CGMs)
