Brightpoint Community College invites highly motivated individuals to apply to the Military and Veterans Education Counselor (MVEC) position.
As part of the Military and Veterans Education team, the MVEC will:
- Collaborate with multiple offices to ensure a smooth matriculation process for all students using military and/or veteran benefits
- Assist students and their families in obtaining all appropriate military benefits
- Receive request for certifications, process requests within the established timeframe, document all transactions, upload documents in the document imaging system
- Conduct internal audits every semester
- Assist in the resolution of VA education benefit payment discrepancies and provide academic advising services as necessary
- Participate in outreach events
- Answer phone calls and emails daily
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess the ability to provide service to a diverse population of customers.
- Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information.
- Must be able to prioritize work and be able to meet defined deadlines.
- Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, occasional weekends and teleworking if required.
- Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required.
Additional Considerations:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Proficiency in the use of PeopleSoft, EAB, Microsoft Office, Teams and Google suite.
Prior experience at a college or university is preferred.
