CSA Operations & Fleet Manager
The CSA Operations & Fleet Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a FedEx Ground Contracted Service Area (CSA). This position oversees delivery operations, driver performance, fleet maintenance, safety compliance, staffing, logistics, customer service, and operational efficiency. The manager ensures all routes are staffed, vehicles are maintained, service levels exceed FedEx expectations, and the operation remains compliant with DOT and FedEx Ground standards.
Essential ResponsibilitiesLogistics & Daily Operations
- Oversee all daily delivery operations.
- Ensure all routes are staffed and dispatched on time.
- Coordinate daily route planning and optimization.
- Monitor dispatch throughout the day.
- Respond to service disruptions and delivery issues.
- Track productivity, stops per hour, and route efficiency.
- Manage contingency plans for call-offs and vehicle breakdowns.
- Maintain communication with FedEx terminal management.
- Analyze daily operational reports and implement improvements.
Employee Management
- Recruit, interview, and hire qualified drivers.
- Conduct new hire orientation and training.
- Perform ride-alongs and driver evaluations.
- Coach employees on safety and performance expectations.
- Manage disciplinary actions and corrective action plans.
- Conduct annual performance reviews.
- Create employee schedules.
- Approve timecards and payroll submissions.
- Build employee morale and maintain a positive work culture.
- Ensure proper staffing for peak seasons.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain DOT compliance.
- Ensure driver qualification files remain current.
- Monitor Hours of Service compliance (where applicable).
- Conduct accident investigations.
- Complete safety meetings and monthly training.
- Monitor speeding, distracted driving, and telematics.
- Ensure compliance with GroundCloud and FedEx safety standards.
- Schedule remedial driver training when necessary.
- Review camera events and coaching opportunities.
- Maintain OSHA and workplace safety compliance.
Fleet Management
- Maintain company vehicles to maximize uptime.
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate repairs with vendors.
- Schedule inspections and emissions testing.
- Track maintenance expenses.
- Maintain maintenance records.
- Monitor vehicle cleanliness and appearance.
- Manage tire replacement schedules.
- Coordinate emergency roadside assistance.
- Monitor fuel usage and fleet operating costs.
- Plan vehicle replacements and capital improvements.
Customer Service
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Investigate delivery exceptions.
- Work with terminal personnel to resolve service issues.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Handle escalated service failures professionally.
Performance Management
Responsible for improving key performance indicators including:

Administrative Duties
- Prepare weekly operational reports.
- Monitor operating budgets.
- Review payroll accuracy.

- Maintain personnel files.
- Manage contractor documentation.
- Complete FedEx reporting requirements.
- Maintain insurance and licensing records.
- Order uniforms, supplies, and equipment.

QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3–5 years of logistics, transportation, or delivery operations experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations
- Experience managing fleets and preventative maintenance
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Physical Requirements

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
