Essential Functions
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
- Demonstrate knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures.
- Utilizes AIDET and Patient Experience measures during patient interactions
- Attend staff meetings and in-services
- Complete competency requirements on an annual basis
- Follows all infection control and prevention policies
- Demonstrate ability to maintain a safe environment and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to obtain blood or other specimens using varied technique on all age groups
- Proficient in the use of the laboratory information system and hospital information system (where applicable)
- Maintain supplies in a neat and orderly manner
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
- Make appropriate decisions independently
- Prioritize workload
- Inform management of problems
- Maintain confidentiality of patient data
- Cross training in ATC, MLW, Phlebotomy/Accessioning
- Performs EKGs in Presurgical testing location.
18. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Required or
- GED
- 1-3 years Previous phlebotomy experience preferred Preferred
- 4-6 years Previous experience in a healthcare environment Required
- Performs EKGs Preferred
- Basic Computer Skills (Low proficiency)
- Performs EKGs (Low proficiency)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician - AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIANS (ASPT) Preferred or
- CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Healthcareer Association Preferred or
NCCT-Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Center for Competency Testing Preferred
