POSITION SUMMARY:
The College of Western Idaho's Heavy Equipment program (HTEC) is looking for an adjunct faculty member. Adjunct faculty teach assigned courses in accordance with the College’s established policies and guidelines, and assist in student advising. Adjunct faculty are required to use the Canvas learning platform for all assignments, grading, posting office hours, making announcements, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teaches contracted credit load of courses in accordance with the descriptions published in the CWI catalog
- Utilizes outcomes assessment measures
- Participates in instructional evaluation processes
- Meets all scheduled classes with any deviation being filed promptly and accurately through the appropriate channels
- Monitors student placement in courses and student progress; maintains accurate records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, Associates degree in Diesel Technology is preferred
- Five years of full-time recent work experience in a related field.
- Strong familiarity with hydraulic and powertrain systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to adapt to variety of teaching methodologies including lectures, group activities,
individual instruction, distance learning, and teaching with technology.
- Ability to advise students.
- Proficiency in usage of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation
software applications.
- Demonstrated experience teaching at a community college or with adult learners preferred.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS:
- This position is for our Spring 2027 semester. Monday thru Thursday, 5:00pm-10:30pm.
- Successful candidates must reside in Idaho.
