Multi-doctor optometric practice looking for full time help.
About the optometric technician role:
We are seeking a candidate that is friendly, energetic and motivated to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye exams such as visual acuity tests, refraction, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Take patient medical histories and document relevant information in the electronic health record system.
- Perform contact lens insertion and removal trainings and educate patients on proper usage and maintenance.
- Cleaning equipment and assisting with maintaining office's cleanliness.
- Answer patient questions and help schedule appointments.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients throughout their visit.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant training preferred.
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician is required.
- Knowledge of optometric instruments and eye care procedures is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive patient information.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- We do require candidates be well versed with computers since we use cloud based electronic health records and all equipment is automated.
Experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician is required. Pay is commensurate with experience.
Schedule:
- Flexible hours as we are open 7 days a week
- Occasional weekend shifts
- Occasional evening shifts (till 7 pm)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
