Frenchie's Floral Studio is a full-service floral and plant studio in Juneau, Alaska, specializing in elevated floral design, houseplants, curated gifts, home décor, and bespoke weddings and events. We're open Monday through Saturday for in-store shopping, online orders, and local deliveries.
Position: Assistant Manager (Part-Time)
We're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team on a part-time, hourly basis. This is a hands-on role that blends retail leadership, customer service, floral design, and marketing assistance. If you love flowers, plants, and people, and you thrive in a creative, fast-moving environment, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities
Floral Design: Design and complete floral arrangements on demand, including everyday orders, sympathy pieces, weddings, and events. This is a working floral role, so you should be comfortable producing quality arrangements independently and stepping in whenever the shop needs them.
Management & Operations: Co-manage day-to-day store operations alongside the Shoppe Manager. Assist in supervising, training, and evaluating staff. Oversee scheduling, timesheets, and daily workflow. Manage receipts, reimbursements, and mileage reports. Become proficient in store software, including POS systems, Google Workspace, and website hosting. Maintain merchandising standards, store security, and address customer and staff concerns professionally.
Sales & Customer Service: Lead by example on the floor by actively engaging with every customer, in person and over the phone, helping them find what they need and making thoughtful recommendations. Support floral and plant orders, vendor communications, and inventory conditioning and organization. Assist with in-home and office plant care services as needed.
Business Growth & Marketing: Help develop strategies to grow our customer base and boost profitability. Contribute to social media campaigns and in-store promotions. Keep POS and website updated with seasonal changes and product availability. Develop and maintain client relationships, including contract accounts and VIP customers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in retail, floral, or a design-related environment preferred.
- Proven floral design ability with the confidence to complete arrangements on demand.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, POS systems, and social media platforms.
- Ability to multitask and manage time independently.
- A valid driver's license is required, as local deliveries are an occasional part of this role.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Schedule:
Part-time with varying shifts, including weekends. Full availability is required during peak seasons: the two weeks surrounding Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, and throughout December.
