Position Summary
As an Overnight Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you’ll be on the front line of client care. You’ll ensure safety, help facilitate treatment-related activities, and support daily living routines for clients in our program. This is a hands-on role where you’ll make a direct impact on people’s recovery journey every day.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and monitor clients to maintain safety, structure, and adherence to program rules.
- Facilitate daily living activities, schedules, and therapeutic engagement.
- Conduct room checks, safety rounds, and property inspections.
- Provide transportation to appointments and meetings as assigned.
- Assist with intake processes, including property inventory and orientation.
- Support clients with recovery challenges while modeling positive behavior.
- Monitor and document client behavior, vitals, and detox observations (CIWA, COWS).
- Observe and document medication self-administration and complete drug/alcohol screenings.
- Respond to medical, psychiatric, or behavioral emergencies.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure common areas are safe and orderly.
- Accurately complete shift notes, logs, and client documentation in EMR systems.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and compliance reviews.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 1+ year in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related healthcare preferred
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
- Credentials: Registration or eligibility with CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE (or ability to obtain)
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- TB & health screen within 7 days of hire.
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.

- Familiarity with detox protocols, CIWA/COWS, and vitals monitoring.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality, and patient rights.
- Ability to handle crises, de-escalate situations, and adapt to client needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with a diverse client population.
Physical Requirements
This role involves walking, bending, kneeling, and occasional lifting (30+ lbs). You must be able to support clients in emergencies and handle exposure risks such as bodily fluids or unpredictable situations.
