General Definition of Work
Performs work maintaining water and sewer ways by digging trenches and using clamps for repairing or replacing sections of pipes, locating and maintaining residential water and electric meters by performing maintenance and meter swaps, operating and maintaining heavy equipment and vehicles, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Work is performed under the supervision of the CWSS Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintains water and electric meters.

Performs residential service orders and re-reads.

Maintains water and sewer mains.

Operates heavy equipment.

Locates utilities and meters.

Performs water and sewer main taps.

Mows and weed eats assigned ground areas.

Maintains and greases equipment and vehicles.

Must be courteous and helpful to customers and the public.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and less than one year of experience in the maintenance of water and sewer ways or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications

Obtain a valid commercial driver's license Class B with tanker and air brakes endorsements in the State of Missouri within six months of hire. City of Harrisonville offers paid CDL training.

Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for position.
Pay ranges from $19.15 per hour up to $30.64 per hour, plus a generous benefit package.
