We are currently seeking a Dental Hygienist to support our clinic in Tacoma, WA. This position, reporting to the Dental Director, is an excellent opportunity for someone excited to make an immediate and lasting impact in a growing company.
This is a part-time, contract position with an irregular and intermittent schedule. Work hours, days, and frequency are flexible and negotiable, starting at one day per month.
Position Overview
Cedar Wellness Center is seeking to hire a Dental Hygienist who loves taking on a challenge and being part of an aligned, committed team. We are looking for a Dental Hygienist who demonstrates patience and compassion since our clinic often sees patients when they are feeling their worst. As a Tribally owned clinic providing whole-person care, it is important that our staff believe in our patients so they can learn to believe in themselves. A non-judgmental approach is key.
While a kind heart is a requirement, an organized mind is also needed for this position. As a Dental Hygienist, you will provide routine cleanings—including scaling, polishing, and plaque removal—while assessing oral health to report vital findings to the dentist. You will be responsible for taking and developing X-rays, applying preventative treatments such as fluoride and sealants, and educating a diverse population of patients on proper hygiene techniques. Maintaining accurate records is crucial as our program is built on a scientific approach to addiction medicine and this clinic is highly regulated by credentialing agencies. - Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental HygienistValid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and patient care standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous experience in a dental practice or clinic
- Familiarity with dental software systems, especially Open Dental
BLS for healthcare providers certification

- Assist the dentist during procedures when required
- This position is based in an integrated healthcare setting and involves regular interaction with patients and dental, medical, and behavioral health staff. The role may require standing for extended periods.
