As the first point of contact, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth seating arrangements, managing reservations, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor upon arrival, making them feel valued and comfortable
- Manage restaurant reservations using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring accurate booking records
- Coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to optimize table turnover and reduce wait times
- Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests while managing expectations
- Assist with guest services by providing menus, answering questions about the restaurant’s offerings, and addressing special requests
- Support food safety standards by handling guest interactions responsibly and maintaining cleanliness in the host station
Experience
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, including phone communication and proper phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist management, and guest billing support if needed
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest flow efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
