Joseph Design Build is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Assistant Interior Designer to join our growing team in Austin, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated designer to work alongside our Senior Interior Designer on the design and execution of high-volume new residential construction projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Revit, passionate about residential design, and eager to develop professionally in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Interior Designer with the design and execution of new residential construction projects.
- Create interior layouts, finish plans, elevations, and construction details using Revit.
- Develop and coordinate construction documents, specifications, and material selections.
- Coordinate with architecture, engineering, purchasing, and construction teams to ensure accurate and complete project documentation.
- Maintain finish schedules, material libraries, and product specifications.
- Research and source finishes, fixtures, furniture, and décor.
- Prepare presentation materials and design documentation.
- Assist with furniture deliveries, installations, styling, and project punch walks at completed homes.
- Support field teams by responding to design questions and updating drawings as needed.
- Ensure all drawings and specifications remain organized, accurate, and current throughout the construction process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred.
- Required: Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or Enscape is a plus.
- Strong understanding of residential construction drawings and detailing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
