Job Summary:
Responsible for organization of incoming products, staging, loading, and additional packaging of materials in a refrigerated environment. Responsible for reading and understanding order sheets, gathering products, repackaging products as necessary, and loading trucks according to customer orders. This position is hands-on, requires standing/walking for the length of the shift, lifting/pulling heavy materials, and being able to work in 36-40 degrees.
This position works 4 10-hour shifts. There are multiple shift openings. This role is scheduled to work Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· High school graduate or equivalent required
· Previous work in a warehouse or refrigerated environment preferred
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb for extended hours
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, including overhead
· Must be able to manually drag up to 300 pounds with the use of a hook
· Must be able to work in an environment that includes exposure to noise, dust, moisture and varying temperatures
· Some exposure to cleaning chemicals
· Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
· Must have well developed organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects
· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others
· Ability to meet deadlines
· Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies
Essential Job Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment within dairy production environment
· Complete all required documentation and scheduled completion checks
· Monitor incoming packaged material from the plant is accurate, including dates and labels
· Make adjustments to track timing and output as needed
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic operating difficulties
· Complete cleaning checklist once order fulfillment is complete
· Assist production in ensuring Stackers are cleared between all label, package and product changes
· Communicate clearly to Cold Box leadership, Production, and Warehouse teams
· Ensure no cross contamination of separately labeled products.
· Organize systems for proper rotation of product and monitor accuracy of such systems daily
· Monitor temperatures to ensure quality of product
· Report any discrepancies in date codes to the supervisor on duty
· Verify proper loading of each outgoing trailer
· May be required to perform regular frequent inventory checks
· Maintain an organized and tidy storage area, ensuring that materials are easily accessible
· Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information
· Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's
· Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
· Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc
· Responsible for food safety, prerequisite programs and food quality related to designated area
· Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance
· Work overtime as assigned, schedule must be flexible based on the needs of the department
· Ability to work cooperatively with others.
· Ability to communicate strongly in both English and Spanish is required
· Comply with all company policies and procedures
