Operator Assistant - Job Duties
- Assist the Machine Operator with machine setups and changeovers, including removing and replacing tooling rolls, cut-off dies, punch dies, table spacers, and other tooling.
- Collect products as they exit the machine and safely stack them on pallets by product type.
- Measure slit coil widths for product identification and weight calculations.
- Measure tooling roll spacers, knives, and other components during setups and changeovers.
- Keep the machine area and work surfaces clean and free of strapping, bottles, wrappers, and debris.
- Safely operate wood and radial arm saws to cut wood blocks to required lengths.
- Safely operate metal cut-off saws to cut scrap and materials as needed.
- Assist with basic daily machine maintenance, including oiling, greasing, cleaning, blowing, spraying, and adjustments.
- Use a variety of hand and shop tools, including screw guns, hammers, razor knives, shop vacuums, carts, dollies, brooms, mops, and other equipment.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of heavy assembly experience.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure for quality control and product measurements.
- Reliable transportation required; public transportation is not available.
Hours & Pay
Day Shift
- Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
- $19.22/hour
- Overtime may begin at 3:00 AM and may include Saturdays.
Night Shift
- Monday–Friday, 1:45 PM–10:30 PM
- $20.72/hour ($19.22 + $1.50 shift differential)
- Overtime may extend until midnight and may include Saturdays.
Pay: $19.22 - $20.72 per hour
