Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Rig and Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle fleets with a focus on oilfield rigs. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance and safety of equipment used in demanding environments such as construction sites, industrial facilities, and agricultural operations. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct mechanical repairs including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, and wheel alignments.
- Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific project requirements.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics and electrical wiring to identify faults accurately.
- Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with assembly of new equipment or machinery components; support ongoing maintenance programs to maximize operational uptime.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and oilfield rig repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, HVAC, suspension, tire service, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or similar industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to provide your own tools.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely; willingness to work in various environmental conditions. Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
