Lightning Lawn & Landscape, part of ACE Outdoor Services, is hiring an experienced Hardscape & Heavy Equipment Crew Leader for our South Lyon/Brighton team.
This is a hands-on landscape construction and hardscape position for someone who knows how to operate equipment, build quality projects, and lead work in the field.
This is NOT a lawn mowing or lawn maintenance position.

Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other landscape construction equipment

Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, and finish work

Install paver patios, walkways, retaining walls, stone, and other hardscape features

Prepare proper bases and ensure correct elevations, drainage, and grading

Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew

Review job scopes and ensure projects are completed according to plan

Load, unload, and safely transport equipment and materials
-
Maintain equipment and report repair or maintenance needs
-
Identify jobsite challenges and make effective field decisions

Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites

Ensure completed work meets ACE Outdoor Services quality standards

Previous hardscape or landscape construction experience required
-
Skid steer and mini excavator experience required
-
Experience installing pavers, retaining walls, patios, and similar projects
-
Strong understanding of grading, base preparation, drainage, and elevations
-
Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment
-
Crew leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred
-
Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
-
Ability to perform physical outdoor work in changing weather conditions

Dependable, safety-focused, and able to take ownership of projects

Strong attention to detail and quality

Prefer building projects over mowing lawns

Are comfortable operating equipment every day

Can look at a jobsite and understand what needs to happen next

Take pride in clean, professional hardscape installations

Can lead a crew while still working alongside them
