Part Time | 15-20 Hours Per Week | $25-$30/hour
The Pulpo Group is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Assistant to support the upkeep and maintenance of our restaurants and properties throughout Ann Arbor. This is a flexible, part-time role ideal for someone with general handyman, contractor, or building maintenance experience who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, functional, and guest-ready.
Our restaurants are high-energy hospitality environments where details matter. We’re looking for someone proactive, resourceful, and comfortable jumping into a variety of projects - from paint touch-ups and light repairs to staining, sanding, furniture assembly, and general property upkeep.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Perform general maintenance and upkeep across multiple restaurant properties.

Complete paint touch-ups, patching, sanding, staining, and minor repairs.

Assist with maintaining patios, dining rooms, kitchens, storage areas, and exterior spaces.

Respond to day-to-day maintenance needs and communicate repair updates clearly.

Help maintain an organized, safe, and professional environment for staff and guests.

Coordinate with leadership on maintenance priorities and ongoing facility projects.

Identify issues proactively and assist in preventing larger maintenance problems.

Support seasonal projects, setup tasks, and general property improvement work.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Prior handyman, facilities, contractor, construction, or maintenance experience preferred.

Comfortable using basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time well.

Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between properties.

Availability to assist with urgent facilities needs.

Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or HVAC experience is a plus, but not required.

Requirements:
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Prior experience in facilities maintenance, handyman work, construction, or general property upkeep preferred.

Comfortable using standard hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintenance needs.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong communication with leadership.

Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between restaurant properties as needed.

Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and a strong sense of urgency in completing tasks.

Available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or urgent maintenance situations when needed.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or mechanical systems is a plus, but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

Comfortable using ladders and working in indoor and outdoor environments throughout varying weather conditions.

Can safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
