We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant/Medication Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Administer medications accurately following established protocols and document all medication activities in electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; report any abnormalities promptly to nursing staff
- Support specialized care needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavioral health interventions
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
- Assist with medical procedures in various settings including medical-surgical units, emergency departments, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or hospice environments
- Use EMR/EHR systems effectively for documentation of patient records and medical history updates; manage medical records meticulously
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely while adhering to manual handling practices and safe lifting procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient service across acute care, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments
- Engage with patients of all ages—including pediatrics and geriatrics—providing empathetic caregiving tailored to individual needs
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Medication Technician in accordance with state regulations
- Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home health environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic life support (BLS) including CPR; experience with advanced skills such as phlebotomy or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) management is a plus
- Familiarity with infectious disease protocols and urgent/emergency medicine procedures
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with patients who have disabilities or complex health needs
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and conduct manual handling tasks required for patient mobility assistance
