Jefferson County Board Developmental Disabilities (JCBDD) is seeking part-time Transportation Aides for our program located in Steubenville, OH. This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and the completion of required vehicle operator training sessions.

Responsibilities
- Rides on a daily scheduled van/bus route to assist driver in the transporting of assigned students to/from JCBDD programs in a safe manner.
- Assists Vehicle Operator in loading and unloading of ambulatory/non-ambulatory students when necessary
- Assists passengers into/out of seats, attaching/detaching safety restraints as needed
- Assists with loading/unloading of passengers on/off of motorized lift devices
- Secures wheelchairs on bus as appropriate
- Meets needs of any special health problems
- Operates safety equipment (fire extinguishers, radio, first aid kit) as needed
- Receives and cares for written messages, medication, and other personal items for rider/parents/guardians
- Reports medical matters, including but not limited to abuse and neglect, to appropriate authority
- Uses appropriate interventions to address behavior concerns of students
- Performs other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor and/or Superintendent
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with school personnel, building occupants, administration, and JCBDD leadership to perform daily tasks
