Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive dealership experience and a strong background in auto service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence. This role involves overseeing daily service operations, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring the highest standards of automotive repair and maintenance are met. The Automotive Service Manager will also play a key role in diagnostic and repair assistance, upselling services, estimating repairs, and maintaining customer satisfaction to foster long-term loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the automotive service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of service technicians and advisors to achieve departmental goals.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, tire service, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, alignment, and auto body repair.
- Manage service writing duties such as creating accurate estimates and invoices while ensuring proper documentation.
- Upsell additional services and repairs to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability.
- Handle auto estimating processes accurately and efficiently to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Maintain excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for daily operations.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed within the service area to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven automotive experience with a strong background in auto service management.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience with service technician supervision, auto estimating, service writing, and auto body repair processes.
- Familiarity with various automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, tire services, diesel engines, air brakes, alignments, and auto repairs.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity.
- Knowledge of automobile sales processes is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
