Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Low Voltage Foreman to lead and oversee installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage electrical systems across various projects. Duties
- Lead and supervise field service technicians in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage electrical systems including security alarms, CCTV, access control, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and fire alarm systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system setup and integration.
- Oversee the installation of low-voltage wiring, cabling, conduit runs, and equipment using hand tools and power tools while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Conduct system design reviews and assist in developing detailed plans for electrical security system projects.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to security systems, surveillance cameras, network connectivity, remote access software, and equipment failures with a focus on quick resolution.
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols, building codes, and industry standards while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to team members and clients; communicate effectively to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, schematics updates, and service reports for accountability and future reference.
- Assist in sales activities related to alarm system upgrades or new security solutions by providing expert advice on system capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or foreman specializing in low-voltage electrical systems such as security alarms, CCTV surveillance, access control systems, sensors, IDS, fire alarms, telecommunication wiring or related fields.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for electrical wiring and equipment installation.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret technical documentation accurately.
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring practices aligned with NEC standards; experience with cabling techniques for surveillance or security systems preferred.
- Familiarity with computer hardware setup, network configurations including computer networking concepts and remote access software integration.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for equipment failures involving surveillance cameras, alarm & access control systems, sensors or fire alarm devices.
- Physical ability to perform construction tasks such as lifting heavy equipment or working at heights; comfortable working outdoors or in confined spaces when necessary.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members alike.
- Valid certifications related to low-voltage systems or construction experience are advantageous; locksmithing or telecommunication background is a plus.
