American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience and dysrhythmia interpretation skills.

Work setting is an acute care hospital with 286 total staffed beds
-
Newly developed MS/Tele unit currently operating with 10 beds, staffed by 2 RNs and 1 tech per shift
-
Patient ratio is 1:5-6
-
Bedside monitoring includes telemetry, BP, and pulse ox capabilities
-
Charting is done in Epic
-
Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
-
Every other weekend is required and non-negotiable
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
-
Charge responsibility is shared between the stepdown and 3 West units
-
No off-shift management on-site, though leadership is reachable by phone and available during off-shift hours
-
24/7 house supervisor coverage is provided
-
Active SC RN license or compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active prior to start

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required

Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
-
Telemetry experience on the unit is required
-
Community hospital experience preferred
-
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized

Local candidates are accepted for this position

Scrub color required is royal blue

Parking is provided at no cost

Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date and average approximately 4 hours

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
