We are searching for an Automation Engineer to perform a variety of hands-on work, equipment operation and improvement, machine installation, trials, debugging, upgrades, and building prototypes. To be successful, this candidate should be ready to dive into new projects, learn new skills, program, wire, and balance tasks that require various skills, all while appropriately prioritizing their schedule to achieve the tasks' completion.
Job Description: Are you looking for new experiences developing new automated systems? At V-Glass, you’ll learn how to build VIGs, gaining an understanding of the processes necessary for successful production. Once you understand the fundamentals, you’ll assist with the transition of each manual process to automated processes. Each process is an evolving work cell that includes various robotics, motion systems, pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, PLCs, and handling equipment. Programming these work cells requires the ability to pivot between programming languages, methods, and communication protocols. Understanding wiring, schematics, datasheets, troubleshooting techniques, and using outside resources like suppliers, manufacturers, and AI to solve problems will be a daily occurrence. We currently utilize equipment that has programming in C, BASIC, ladder logic, and python. We communicate between devices using Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and discrete I/O. This job requires problem-solving skills, tenacity, and the ability to pivot quickly to solve problems. If you’re a recent college graduate with hands-on robotics experience or a seasoned automation engineer, we want you.
