A established mechanical contractor is seeking a skilled Project Manager to manage the day-to-day execution of commercial mechanical construction projects. This is a hands-on PM role for someone who knows the mechanical contracting world — from buyout and submittals through field coordination, change orders, and closeout. You'll work alongside experienced field leaders and ownership with the support and resources to deliver quality work.
What you'll do
Manage project administration and documentation from kickoff through closeout — submittals, RFIs, permits, and logs
Own project financials — budget review, cost control, billing schedules, change orders, and retention collection
Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate procurement and buyout to meet cost and schedule targets
Negotiate and administer subcontracts; review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices
Coordinate field staffing, labor resource loading, and productivity across assigned projects
Ensure contracts, change conditions, and project records are properly documented to protect all parties
What we're looking for
Mechanical contractor background is required — GC-only or MEP consulting backgrounds will not be considered.
Direct experience working for a mechanical contractor — HVAC, plumbing, piping, process, or related mechanical construction
5–10 years of project management or project engineering experience in mechanical construction
Solid understanding of project financials — budgets, cost reports, billings, and change order management
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously
Clear communicator across field crews, subcontractors, owners, and internal leadership
