Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician! Duties
- Install new HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems, following schematics and HVAC design plans.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing HVAC equipment to maximize system performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics, mechanical systems, refrigeration issues, and plumbing components using hand tools, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and building automation system (BAS) controls to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of defective parts with a focus on safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants.
- Collaborate with customers to explain system operations, maintenance procedures, and answer technical questions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and detailed reports on system performance and repairs performed.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong mechanical background in HVAC or related fields.
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems diagnostics, and building automation controls.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles including ammonia refrigeration systems, boiler operation, and appliance repair.
- Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge of mechanical systems repair including welding skills is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; possession of a <PERSON> driver’s license preferred for field service assignments.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or HVAC design are a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
