What You'll Do
As a Dental Hygienist, you'll play an essential role in promoting oral health through preventive care, patient education, and collaboration with our dental providers.
Patient Care
- Perform comprehensive oral health assessments.
- Complete dental cleanings (prophylaxis) and periodontal maintenance.
- Perform scaling and root planing when indicated.
- Apply sealants and other preventive treatments.
- Take digital and traditional dental radiographs.
Patient Education
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Provide preventive care recommendations and post-treatment instructions.
- Encourage long-term oral health through personalized education.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient information and treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and infection-controlled clinical environment.
- Verify that dental equipment is functioning properly before patient care begins.
- Collaborate closely with dentists and other clinical team members to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dental Director.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Active New York State Dental Hygienist License.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency with dental software and electronic charting.
- Must meet all requirements for appointment and reappointment as a member of the dental staff.
