Housekeeper — The Spinning Mill (Skowhegan, Maine)

About the Role: The Spinning Mill is a mixed-use hotel and residential property in Skowhegan, Maine. We're hiring Housekeepers to keep the entire property, inside and out, clean, safe, and welcoming for our guests and residents. This is a hands-on, whole-property role. On any given day, a housekeeper may be turning over a hotel room, preparing an apartment for a new tenant, cleaning a lobby or event space, or completing exterior property upkeep. Flexibility is an important part of this position. Assignments may shift based on hotel occupancy, move-ins/move-outs, events, property needs, and seasonal conditions. Housekeepers should be comfortable moving between hotel rooms, residential units, common areas, event spaces, and exterior areas as assigned.
What You'll Do:
- Clean and turn over hotel guest rooms, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing rooms for incoming guests
- Prepare residential apartments, ranging from studios to 3-bedroom units, for new tenants following move-out
- Clean common areas, including hallways, lobbies, amenity spaces, event spaces, and public bathrooms
- Clean and maintain building entrances, doorways, walkways, and exterior trash receptacles
- Perform periodic exterior grounds and common-area upkeep as assigned, with responsibilities varying by season and property needs
- Perform seasonal exterior upkeep as trained, such as sweeping and debris removal
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and clean glass throughout the property
- Complete detailed cleaning tasks as needed, including vents, light fixtures, baseboards, and walls
- Keep housekeeping carts, supplies, and cleaning equipment organized and in good condition
- Report maintenance, property damage, or safety concerns to the Head of Housekeeping or General Manager
- Complete other cleaning and property-upkeep responsibilities within the scope of the position as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- A flexible, team-oriented attitude and willingness to work across different areas of the property
- Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable completing assigned exterior work in varying seasonal conditions
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout a shift
- Able to lift/carry up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Prior housekeeping or hospitality experience is helpful but not required; on-the-job training is provided
Schedule & Status:
- Full-Time: 40 hours/week
- Part-Time to Full-Time: 30–40 hours/week
- Typical hours: 8:00AM–5:00PM
- Weekend availability required
