Position: Volunteer Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, deploying, and retaining campaign volunteers to support ballot-access operations, community outreach activities, petition-signature collection efforts, fundraising events, voter engagement initiatives, and other campaign activities. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers and will help build and maintain a highly motivated volunteer workforce capable of supporting the campaign's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment:
· Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies.
· Identify opportunities to recruit volunteers through community organizations, civic groups, churches, colleges, and local events.
· Conduct volunteer outreach and recruitment campaigns.
· Maintain a pipeline of prospective volunteers.
· Promote volunteer opportunities through campaign communication channels.
Volunteer Training:
· Coordinate volunteer orientation and onboarding activities.
· Develop volunteer training materials and procedures.
· Train volunteers on campaign policies, procedures, and expectations.
· Ensure volunteers understand petition-signature collection requirements and campaign messaging.
· Provide ongoing support and coaching to volunteers.
Volunteer Scheduling & Deployment:
· Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments.
· Match volunteers with appropriate campaign activities and field operations.
· Ensure adequate staffing levels for petition drives, community events, and outreach activities.
· Maintain volunteer calendars and deployment records.
· Coordinate volunteer check-in and reporting procedures.
Volunteer Retention & Engagement:
· Develop programs to improve volunteer satisfaction and retention.
· Maintain regular communication with volunteers.
· Recognize volunteer contributions and achievements.
· Address volunteer concerns and provide support as needed.
· Foster a positive and productive volunteer culture.
Community Outreach & Event Support:
· Support community outreach initiatives and grassroots organizing activities.
· Coordinate volunteer participation in campaign events.
· Assist with event staffing and logistics.
· Support voter engagement and public outreach activities.
· Promote community involvement in campaign efforts.
Qualifications:
· Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· Experience recruiting, managing, or coordinating volunteers preferred.
· Experience in political campaigns, community organizing, nonprofit organizations, customer service, education, or related fields preferred.
· Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

·Time Commitment:
· This is a volunteer leadership role that will require a substantial time commitment, likely 30-60+ hours per week depending on campaign needs. The campaign hopes to convert key leadership positions to paid roles as fundraising permits, but there is currently no guaranteed compensation.
· Extended hours, evenings, and weekends as required during petition collection periods.
