This position is for a year of service, starting September 16, 2026 and ending August 30, 2027.
Services will take place primarily in Medina County, with one to two trips to Cleveland each month.
AmeriCorps service is a rewarding opportunity for a gap year, recent college graduates, and current college students. Veterans, older adults, and others seeking to make a difference in their community, or a change in career, are also encouraged to apply. Positions Available:
The impact of social isolation and loneliness is significant – both for mental and physical health. Be a part of helping people 55+ develop relationships and enjoy community through in-person programing at senior living complexes and community centers and live virtual programs.
Social connections are vital for all of us. They are instrumental in assisting us in maintaining health and a strong quality of life, even when other challenges are present. IConnects unique programing provides social programing and technology training. Those that are not able to utilize technology are at a greater risk for social and life management issues during times of limited mobility.
You will spend your service year providing in-person programing focused on a variety of topics from technology (we will provide training), line dancing, current event discussions, virtual tours, music, in-person board and online games, creative writing and much more. Members are encouraged to bring their interests and expertise to service.
Benefits
Living Allowance: Compensation is provided via direct deposit twice a month.
Half Time (900 hours total, +-20 hours per week) = $13,111
Quarter Time (450 hours total, +-10-12 hours per week) = $6,314
Education Award: Segal Education Award equivalent to the maximum amount of the Pell Grant upon the successful completion of service hours:
Half Time = $3,697.50
Quarter Time = $1,923.
The education award may be used towards educational expenses and/or current/past/future student expenses. A number of colleges match or exceed the educational award for current students.
