Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Opioid Treatment Program, with a required shift on Saturdays from 5:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Candidates must be able to commit to at least two Saturday shifts per month. The nurse will be responsible for the safe and accurate dosing of methadone, monitoring patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition, and supporting the overall treatment process. The ideal candidate is reliable, compassionate, and proficient in navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and record dosing of methadone in accordance with medical orders and regulatory standards.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after dosing.
- Accurately document all clinical interactions and medication administration in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Perform routine health assessments and screenings as needed.
- Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on medication use, program policies, and health topics when appropriate.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all agency, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted New York State RN license.
- Experience in substance use treatment, behavioral health, or medical dosing preferred.
- Ability to navigate and use an electronic medical record (EMR) system with accuracy.
- Strong communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to work early mornings and maintain reliable attendance.
